Forgotten Blessing: Henna

You always keep dettol, tincture of benzoin, etc. in your house to treat cuts & wounds. You have forgotten & ignored the blessed Henna that works mysteriously to heal the wounds quickly. Powdered Henna sold at the markets has some chemicals; they add them to darken the color. It is preferable that you purchase Henna leaves, sieve them & grind them by yourself. Apply dry henna (without water) over the wound & apply bandage. Diabetic patients suffer with delayed wound healing, but Henna will work as a magic for them, they will observe that their delayed wound healing has disappeared.

Ali Bin Abi Rafe'e reported on behalf of his grandfather Salma (servant of Prophet Muhammad): "If someone complained to Prophet Muhammad (S) for his headache, the Prophet asked him for Hijamah & if some one felt pain in his legs, the Prophet asked him to anoint with Henna". (Abu Dawood)
He also reports "Whenever the Prophet suffered with injury or thorn piercing, it was only treated with Henna". (Tirmidhi)

Muhammad Ahmed Zahbi says that there are three essential factors for healing :

Expulsion of fluids from the wounds
Cessation of production of any more fluids
Formation of healthy flesh (granulation tissue) to fill the gap.
Henna contains all these three factors and possesses very good healing properties.
Our old Islamic Atib'ba said that if Henna leaves are soaked in water throughout the night and this decanted water, if taken in morning for 40 days, is effective in leprosy and even heals the internal wounds.

Reported by Abu Hurairah (R) that Prophet Muhammad (S) said "Jews & Chiristians do not dye their hairs, so oppose them by applying the color (Henna)."

Henna was loved by Khulafa'a Rashideen, Abu Bakr & Umar (R). Reported by Anas (R) "Abu Bakr (R) used to color his hairs by Henna& Katam, & Umar (R) used to dye only with Henna".

Henna is praised by Prophet Muhammad (S) & he has asked us to dye our hair (with Henna), so as to oppose Jews & Christians. Tibb-e-Nabwi is hated by Shayateen & Jinnat. We have realized that when Henna is anointed on the head & beard, whisperings (Wasawis) of Sheytaan will reduce, the fragrance of Henna will also repel whisperings of our greatest enemy. Isn't that cool?

Henna was loved by our Shai'khain, Abu Bakr & Umar, those who are buried to rest with Prophet Muhammad (S). It is a powerful healer, its reference is combined with Hijamah in a Hadith.

So we ask you to use Henna :
As a Khazaab on head & beard, you can add vinegar for a darker color, avoid adding coffee & tea as practiced by few women, apply dried Henna powder on wounds & skin irritations if needed (may Allah Save you from injuries, and Henna can also be applied on burnt skin.

Taken from: post by Hasan Shami.

Henna is a great blessing from the Sunnah of our beloved Rasul (S). Take advantage of it and use it for your own herbal benefit as it is a natural healer (and I'm not just being partial to it because it's my name hehe).

Virtues of Muharram

It is narrated from Abu Huraira that the Prophet [SAWS] said, "The best fasts after (the fasts of) Ramadan are the fasts of the month of Allah, Muharram". [Reported by Muslim]

Muharram is among the four sacred months...
“Verily, the number of months with Allaah is twelve months (in a year), so it was ordained by Allaah on the Day when He created the heavens and the earth; of them, four are sacred. That is the right religion, so wrong not yourselves therein…” [al-Tawbah 9:36]

Yaum al-Ashoora falls in this blessed month...

Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: “The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) came to Madeenah and saw the Jews fasting on the day of ‘Aashooraa’. He said, ‘What is this?’ They said, ‘This is a righteous day, it is the day when Allaah saved the Children of Israel from their enemies, so Moosa fasted on this day.’ He said, ‘We have more right to Moosa than you,’ so he fasted on that day and commanded [the Muslims] to fast on that day.” (Reported by al-Bukhaari, 1865).

According to a report narrated by al-Bukhaari: “… so we fast on this day to venerate it.” A version narrated by Imaam Ahmad adds: “This is the day on which the Ark settled on Mount Joodi, so Nooh fasted this day in thanksgiving.” “and commanded [the Muslims] to fast on that day” – according to another report also narrated by al-Bukhaari: “He said to his Companions: ‘You have more right to Moosa than they do, so fast on that day.' ”

Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with them both) said: “I never saw the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) so keen to fast any day and give it priority over any other than this day, the day of ‘Aashooraa’, and this month, meaning Ramadaan.” (Reported by al-Bukhaari, 1867).

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “For fasting the day of ‘Aashooraa’, I hope that Allaah will accept it as expiation for the year that went before.” (Reported by Muslim, 1976).

Which day is Ashoora?
Al-Nawawi (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: “ ‘Aashooraa’ and Taasoo’aa’ are two elongated names [the vowels are elongated] as is stated in books on the Arabic language. Our companions said: ‘Aashooraa’ is the tenth day of Muharram and Taasoo’aa’ is the ninth day. This is our opinion, and that of the majority of scholars. This is the apparent meaning of the ahaadeeth and is what we understand from the general wording. It is also what is usually understood by scholars of the language.” (al-Majmoo’)

Imaam al-Nawawi (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: “It expiates for all minor sins, i.e., it brings forgiveness of all sins except major sins.” Then he said (may Allaah have mercy on him): “Fasting the day of ‘Arafaah expiates for two years, and the day of ‘Aashooraa’ expiates for one year. If when a person says ‘Aameen’ it coincides with the ‘Aameen’ of the angels, he will be forgiven all his previous sins… Each one of the things that we have mentioned will bring expiation. If there are minor sins for which expiation is needed, expiation for them will be accepted; if there are no minor sins or major sins, good deeds will be added to his account and he will be raised in status… If he had committed major sins but no minor sins, we hope that his major sins will be reduced.” (al-Majmoo’ Sharh al-Muhadhdhab, part 6, Sawm Yawm ‘Arafaah).

Believing Women of Paradise

Umme Salamah narrates that she said to Rasulullah “O Rasulullah, are the women of this world superior or the hurs?” He replied, “The women of this world will have superiority over the hurs just as the outer lining of a garment has superiority over the inner lining.”

Umme Salamah then asked, “O Rasulullah, what is the reason for this?” He answered, “Because they performed salah, fasted, and worshipped [Allah]. Allah will put light on their faces and silk on their bodies. They will be fair in complexion and will wear green clothing and yellow jewelry. Their incense-burners will be made of pearls and their combs will be of gold. “

Abu Sa’id and Abu Hurayrah narrate that Rasulullah said, “[When the people will enter Jannat], a caller will announce, ‘Definitely, for you is life; you will never die. For you is good health; you will never become sick. For you is youth; you will never grow old. For you is luxury and comfort, you will never experience difficulty. Both the men and women of Jannat will remain young forever.

Wives of the believers will stay with their own husbands. Women who never married in this world will be given a choice to get married with any (unmarried) man they wish. If they do not like any of them, a special man will be created for them (similar to the hurs) and Allah will join both of them in marriage.

"Surely the men who submit and the women who submit, and the believing men and the believing women, and the obeying men and the obeying women, and the truthful men and the truthful women, and the patient men and the patient women and the humble men and the humble women, and the almsgiving men and the almsgiving women, and the fasting men and the fasting women, and the men who guard their private parts and the women who guard, and the men who remember Allah much and the women who remember -- Allah has prepared for them forgiveness and a mighty reward." (33:35)

Allah will say to the Believers, (Enter the Garden, you and your wives, you will be made glad. There will be brought round for them trays of gold and goblets, and therein is all that the souls desire and eyes find sweet and you will stay there forever. This is the garden, which you are made to inherit because of what you used to do. Therein for you is fruit in plenty whence to eat. ) (Az-Zukhruf 43: 70-73)

I know many women often wonder, men get houris in Jannah, what about us? We all think it, yet no one actually says it lol. Ask Zeynep, she knows what I'm talking about it ;)

This is something that makes every Muslim woman smile when she reads it. SubhanAllah, how just is Islam? We must keep in mind though, that yes the reward of Jannah is far greater than anything we can imagine, but the highest level of Paradise is beyond everything else. Our goal is to reach the highest station in which we cease to exist:

“When the inhabitants of Jannah enter Jannah, Allah will ask them all, ‘Is there anything more that I can give you?’ They will say, ‘Have you not illuminated our faces? Have you not entered us into Jannah? Have you not saved us from Hellfire?’
“Then Allah will uncover the veil (and all shall see Allah). After that moment there would be nothing more beloved to them than seeing their Lord" (Bukhari and Muslim).

May Allah grant us all the highest station in Jannah. Ameen.

4 Best Women

Anas reports that the Messenger of Allaah, salla Allaahu alaihi wa sallam, said: 'The best women of mankind are four: Mariam daughter of `Imraan, Assiya wife of Pharaoh, Khadija daughter of Khuwailid, and Fatima the daughter of the Messenger of Allaah.' [Bukhari and Muslim]
