The Prophet (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said:

"Surely there is in the body a small piece of flesh; if it is good, the whole body is good, and if it is corrupted, the whole body is corrupted, and that is surely the heart." (Bukhari)

The Messenger of Allah said: When a person dies, his actions come to an end, except for three things: a continuing Sadaqa (charity), knowledge from which benefit is still being derived, and a righteous child who prays for her or him (translated meaning from Muslim).

"On the day of Resurrection the Qur'aan will petition Allaah to cloak the one who was a companion if the Qur'aan [recited it often] with garments of honour and respect.
A crown of honour will then be placed on the head of the reciter.
The Qur'aan will then petition Allaah to shower his pleasure on the reciter.
Allaah will then become pleased with him.
The reciter will then be asked to recite the Qur'aan, thereby attaining higher ranks of elevation.
In reward for each ayah, a good deed will be given to him."

"I would not exchange the laughter of my heart for the fortunes of the multitudes; nor would I be content with coverting my tears, invited by my agonized self, into calm. It is my fervent hope that my whole life on this earth will ever be tears and laughter." -Kahlil Gibran

"We who live amid the excitements of the city know nothing about the life of the mountain villagers. We are swept into the current of urban existence, until we forget the peaceful rhythms of simple country life, reap in autumn, rest in winter, imitating nature in all her cycles. We are wealthier than the villagers in silver or gold, but they are richer in spirit. What we sow we reap not; they reap what they sow. We are slaves of gain, and they the children of contentment. Our draught from the cup of life is mixed with the bitterness and despair, fear and weariness; but they drink the pure nectar of life's fulfillment." -Kahlil Gibran
