Where Is our Ramadan Spirit?

Western society emphasizes Christmas spirit so much that American Muslims such as myself feel misrepresented. We too should capture Ramadan spirit in such a way that it makes us excited and prepared for the Holy Month as in the Prophet's time. I was with a group of my friends the other day and it saddened me to hear some of their comments about how much they weren't looking forward to this Ramadan. Of course fasting in the summer would be difficult no doubt, but isn't that what fasting teaches us? Patience? Virtue? Ramadan is almost like new year's resolutions for us Muslims, more exciting than a Christmas morning, more Holy than anything we could ever imagine. It's exciting, it's wonderful, it's Ramadan. I've made a collection of short videos that may help to revive that Ramadan spirit we've all lost. So Muslims, if you're reading this, bring Ramadan back! It's like the Grinch who stole Christmas, of course Ramadan is far more exciting :). So please, don't let anyone steal Ramadan from you this year.

So, Ramadan Mubarak everyone! Insha Allah, I'll be posting a new hadith every day of Ramadan so you can learn 30 new hadith by the end of the month :)

Ma'Assalama
